The Mass Casualty Trauma Kit is built for one job: keeping critically injured people alive long enough for paramedics to reach them, in an event with multiple casualties. Each self-contained pouch is stocked to treat two to six critically injured people and is sized to be carried by one person to where the injuries are.

Distributed Coverage Beats a Single Big Bag

In a mass casualty event, your injured parties won't be in one place. A single large backpack-style trauma bag puts all your supplies — and all your trained responders — in one location, while victims may be spread across multiple rooms, floors, or buildings. Smaller, self-contained pouches solve that. Train multiple people, distribute the kits across your facility, and your team can move on the casualties simultaneously instead of converging on the bag.

You can stage them together near a security desk, position them at strategic points throughout the facility, or carry several in a larger bag — the modularity is the point.

How Many Kits Should You Stock?

We recommend the following based on peak occupancy:

• 20–50 people: 1 kit
• 51–100 people: 2 kits
• 101–200 people: 4 kits
• 200+ people: 6 kits, plus 1 additional kit for every 100 people beyond that

What's Inside, by Capability

The Mass Casualty Trauma Kit is loaded with professional-grade trauma components — the same equipment carried by military and law enforcement medics — and nothing else.

Stop the bleed. Two TacMed SOF-T tourniquets, two ChitoGauze PRO hemostatic dressings, a Dynarex compressed Krinkle gauze, and two Israeli-style pressure bandages give a responder the tools to control severe arterial bleeding on multiple patients.

Seal the chest. Two North American Rescue Hyfin Compact twin packs — four chest seals in total — are enough to cover entry and exit wounds on multiple penetrating chest trauma cases.

Manage the airway. Two pre-lubricated nasopharyngeal airways (NPAs) allow a trained responder to maintain an open airway in unconscious patients, and two CPR face shields provide barrier protection for rescue breathing.

Manage the patient. Trauma shears, four pairs of nitrile gloves, a permanent marker for tourniquet times, a mylar rescue blanket to prevent shock, and a triangle bandage round out the kit. Everything fits in a MOLLE-compatible Osprey pouch with a Red Cross Velcro patch for fast identification.

What's Not Inside — and Why

You won't find Band-Aids, burn cream, or ibuprofen in this kit. You won't find splints. That's deliberate. In the venues this kit is designed for — churches, schools, shopping centers, businesses — staff have phones, paramedics are typically minutes away, and there's no need to immobilize fractures or move injured people. Every cubic inch of space and every dollar in this kit goes toward keeping someone alive in those critical minutes before EMS arrives.
